1-1/2 pounds ground round
3 tablespoons finely chopped onion
Dash garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
6 turkey bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
1/3 cup canned sliced mushrooms
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese
1/4 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
8 hamburger buns, split
Lettuce leaves and tomato slices, optional
In a medium bowl, combine beef, onion, garlic powder and pepper; mix well. Shape into eight patties, 3/4 in. thick. In a small bowl, combine the bacon, mushrooms, cheese and mayonnaise; refrigerate. Grill burgers over medium-hot coals for 8-10 minutes or until no longer pink, turning once. During the last 3 minutes, spoon a scant 1/4 cup of the cheese mixture onto each burger. Serve on buns with lettuce and tomato if desired.
